Ideas For Your Spiritual Bucket List

When we think of "Bucket List", we think of jumping out of a plane, travelling around the world, and doing things that we can only dream of.   But a "Bucket List" isn’t just about the places that you want to visit and the adventures that you want to go on. Instead, your bucket list should contain the goals that you want to attain in all the different areas of your life: personal, financial, physical and spiritual.

After all, while physical goals are fine, don't you think  there is a bigger aim to pursue?

“Everything in the future will improve, if you are making a spiritual effort now.” — Swami Sri Yukteswar

I believe that by focusing on what we most want to improve in our spiritual practice, we make space and time in our life to make these improvements. And soon, we begin to see the positive results in our lives from these efforts.

In this post, I jotted down a few ideas for my spiritual Bucket List.

  • Visit Tibet.
  • Meet the Dalai Lama, and ask him spiritual questions that I’ve always wondered about.
  • Learn Mindfulness Meditation.
  • See Leshan Giant and Grand Buddha in China (the largest statues of Buddha)
  • Visit and train at Shaolin monastery.
  • Try acupuncture
  • Learn more about chakras.
  • Learn/try hypnosis.
  • Go on an Inner Awakening Retreat in India.
  • Attend a Native American Sweat Lodge Ceremony.
  • Go on a shamanic journey or vision quest.
  • Spend Christmas at Orthodox church
  • Visit the places where Jesus walked in Jerusalem.
  • Visit Mount Sinai (where Moses received the ten commandments).
  • Visit Petra.
  • Go (on a pilgrimage) to Mecca.
  • Attend a service at the Vatican ( and may be meet the Pope ).
  • Hike to Machu Picchu, and learn more about their civilization.
  • Visit the famous pyramids of Mexico ( Chichen-Itza, Uxmal, Tulum ).
  • Find inner peace.
  • Heal your past.
  • Learn to live in the now; learn to live mindfully.
  • Practice more yoga
  • Learn Tai Chi, Qi Gong.
  • Read the Bible in full.
Inner travel is just as important as outer travel... but outer travel is more fun. And now you can combine both ! How cool is that ?!

If you want to create your own spiritual bucket list, think first of your goals, and the end results. What kind of daily spiritual practice do you want to have? What kind of life do you see for yourself in the future? What experiences do you want to have? Visualize yourself doing these things, what these outcomes will look and feel like to you.
