I know, that this site was suppose to be about the adventures in the Washington state. But,hey, if Canada is US' little brother (or sister ), British Columbia is practically part of Washington.

I thought our state had it all ( in terms of outdoor activities), but unfortunately, there are things in BC that we do not have. Besides, for me, adventure is not only about things to do , but also places to go ,sights to see ,and something new to explore as well.

Proximity to Seattle makes BC a perfect destination for a mini vocation. The drive to Vancouver takes about 2 hours, then another 2 hours to Whistler.

Just like every big city, Vancouver offers lots of things to do and to see. But for me the main focus ,of course , was the great outdoors. For outdoor buffs, Vancouver offers all kinds of activities : hiking, biking, water sports.

I especially felt jealous of local ski/snowboard enthusiasts. One of the greatest ski areas, Grouse Mountain, is only 15 minutes from downtown. 5 minutes away from the Grouse Mountain ,down the Capilano road, is the famous Capilano suspension bridge. Talking about the adventures- how about a stroll in the sky that will take you high above the forest floor for a squirrel's-eye view of a thriving coastal rain forest.

Among other local attractions are : Lions Gate bridge, Stanley Park, Vancouver waterfront.
I wish I had more time to explore that beautiful town, but my destination was Whistler.
