Bicycle Sunday.

I've written about this event before and I will write about it again, because this is truly an extraordinary event. Every summer for the past 43 year, Lake Washington Boulevard is closed to motorized traffic from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m, so you and your family can walk or ride along the shores of Lake Washington from Mt. Baker Beach south to Seward Park. It’s fun. It’s safe. And it’s a great climate-friendly way to enjoy our city.

Bicycle Sunday is brought to you by Seattle Parks and Recreation and its co-sponsor, the Cascade Bicycle Club, with the support of the Seattle Police Department.

This Sunday,21 the Cascade Bicycle Club presents "Learn-2-Ride" course. This is a short description of the course provided by the CBC:
Learn-2-Ride is our revolutionary technique to teach new riders how to get riding on two-wheels without breaking the teacher's backs, like the traditional bent-over seat holding. This method is great for kids wanting to take that next step from training wheels to two wheels AND for adults who are learning to ride for the first time.
This course focuses on maintaining rider balance and teaching the necessary skills one step at a time. Bring your kids out to Bicycle Sunday for a Learn 2 Ride session. We'll have some small bikes and helmets, but please do bring your own if you have them.

Also, every Bicycle Sunday, the Cascade Bicycle Club Education Foundation offers bicycle helmets for sale- for just $10 ( the lowest price you can find). For more information cal 206-522-3222 or visit www.cascade.org
