Every January, the Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce hosts their annual Lake Chelan Winterfest Festival. The charming town is transformed in to a winter paradise for the annual weekend-long event.
Winterfest is the perfect escape to a Washington winter wonderland !
This event is two weekends filled with incredible ice sculptures, live music, wine tasting, ale tasting, activities for kids of all ages, a polar bear splash, massive beach bonfire, spectacular fireworks show and much more!
It started back in the 80’s and was put on by the Lake Chelan Recreation Association. Over the years, it has grown in size but has been able to retain its small town charm.
The Winterfest Festival is a barrel of fun for everyone; a true event for the whole family.
For thrill seekers, the evening entertainment includes a popular Polar Bear Splash with a blazing beachfront bonfire to warm up afterwards (kindled by locals’ Christmas trees), and a dazzling fireworks display that truly adds a spark of magic to the weekend !
The Polar Bear Splash is not for the timid, mind you. This one is for the brave and the tough !
But if you miss the festival, you can still do the most popular thing, - polar bear plunge, anywhere by the lake !
Campbell's Resort on Lake Chelan is a great place to do that ! It offers great lake views, and easy access to the lake ! The best part - their hot tub is only a few feet away from the lake ! Take a plunge, then warm up in the jacuzzi !
