Travel & Fitness Blogging Tips From Pros : Expert Vagabond

I've been following Matthew from Expert Vagabond for a couple of years now, and because he loves adventure travel as much as I do, his blog is one of my favorite ones.

Besides sharing his adventures, and travel tips with his readers, he also wrote a few great blog posts about how he got started as a travel blogger, how he made money from it, and how he'd become a professional.

In his "How To Start A Travel Blog" post he talks about how easy ( and even free ) it is to set up your first travel blog. He provides pointers on how to name your blog, how to install and host it, and how to add plugins that will give your blog additional features. Mat is huge on social media, and has a big and dedicated following. That's why he recommends to learn and master social media to build your own audience.

One advice that I personally took ( and applying now ! ) from that post is how important to learn from others, and how being a part of community are one of the keys to running a successful blog.

You know the advice comes from a professional, when he basically says: "It's not going to be easy. But it's going to be worth it".

That's basically what Mat says when he stresses that travel blogging isn’t as easy as it looks, and you shouldn’t expect to see any large benefits from it for at least a year ( probably longer ! ).

He's absolutely right that though travel blogging might seem like  dream job, it's still a job that requires hard work.

Personally, I believe that unless you provide value/solve a problem, you don't have a business, you have a hobby.

There are different ways to provide value to your readers, and potential advertisers.

In his post "How I Get Paid To Travel The World", openly, and honestly, Matthew talks about different ways he makes money from his travel blog.

If you've been doing blogging/online marketing for some time, you know many of those ways Matthew is talking about in his post. But if you're a beginner, you might be a bit overwhelmed how exactly it can be done.

This is the whole idea behind this series - to tweak and improve the basics, learn new ways to make money online with fitness and adventure travel blog, and create a completely automated system that will build a residual income.
