If you loved REI's Quarter Dome tent, you'll love REI Co-op Quarter Dome Air Hammock !
A minimalist alternative to a tent, the REI Quarter Dome Air hammock packs light, sets up easy and provides a structured, open sleeping area up off the ground with a stowable bug net for protection.
This 1-person new backcountry hammock from REI combines elements of both tent and traditional hammock design.
Recently, I read it somewhere that Lake Tahoe had been ranked the No. 1 ski destination for the 2010-2011 season. I can't comment on that since I've never been to Lake Tahoe, but can say one thing: if I ever make it there it's not going to be ( just ) skiing...
I thought by now I'd seen all types of animal cruelty : surfing sheep, SUPing cats, parasailing donkies, sakeboarding dogs...But this should be at the top pf PETA's most "tortured animals" list:
Otis is a ten year old pug who grew up at the Lodi Parachute Centre in Acampo, Los Angeles who recently made his 64th tandem skydive strapped to owner Will DaSilva.
Will insists it isn't cruel, claiming Otis is a really happy dog and is well aware what is happening before every jump.
Otis is definitely living the dream, having a ball like a dog with its head out of the car window. Can't wait to see his first solo jump 😃
Watch Otis' story below:

Believe it or not, "volcano tourism" is a popular, and growing travel trend. Every year millions of tourists make active and dormant volcanic areas their preferred destination, either for recreational purposes and sightseeing, or perhaps as an adventure trip involving more extreme activities such as hiking, climbing, camping, taking a hot air balloon trip over volcanic landforms like in Capadoccia, Turkey.
But recently, one activity/adventure has become especially popular - volcano boarding !
The first time I heard about the Flaming Geyser Park was from "The Washington Atlas and Gazetteers". It stated that park's most unique geological feature was its "geysers" (methane seeps). I immediately wanted to find out more about it.
